During the first half of the year 1999,there were 40 earthquakes of M S≥6 occurring in the world.The global seismicity was of medium level.An active tendency of seismicity appeared in the northwest Pacific marginal seismic belt.A strong earthquake of M S 6 7 took place in the China India border. A new global seismicity period is beginning.
