Text comprehension is essential in reading psychology and a key issue in cognitive psychology.Since the late 19th century,researchers have conducted various investigations into both the static representation and the dynamic processing of text comprehension.Some theories and models have been constructed,which lead to a better understanding of the cognitive processes of text comprehension.Since its beginning,the cognitive study of text comprehension has gone through quite a few periods and turning points,which eventually result in the rapid development of the related theories,the study techniques and the practical applications as well.
