To begin with a queer trial of a murder case, and viewed both from the historical context and the novel, the paper has made a relatively comprehensive stylistic interpretation of some specific linguistic data concerning Hiberno-English in Ulysses, and explored the endangered state of Hiberno-English during the colonial period and its close tie with the racial identity. Historically, Hiberno-English comes as a result of the incessant struggle of two opposing ideologies of the oppressor and the oppressed, revealing a particular relationship between discourse and power; textually, Hiberno-English plays an important role in helping the Irish people gaining their national independence, maintaining the national power of discourse and identifying their racial identity, and it turns out to be the spiritual homeland of Joyce and his hometown fellows.
