The Rise of Chinese Fund and the First Prosperity of Hong Kong Movies

作为中国19世纪最重要的转口贸易港,电影很早就传入了香港。电影的兴起与香港这个区域空间在当时国际上的重要意义是分不开的。特别是爱迪生公司派出大量摄影师,用影像记录中国,再给中国观众进行放映,成为了华资崛起时,香港电影初兴时的助推器,直至1907年年底,香港有了第一家纯华资的电影院,华人开始独立参与电影发行和放映领域的商业活动。

As a very important international business port of China in the 19th Century,Hong Kong was a very early place where movies were introduce.The popularity of movie and the then international status of Hong Kong are inseparable,especially when Edison Company began to record China on the film and exhibit the movies to the Chinese audiences,its influence became the booster of the first prosperity of Hong Kong movies with the rise of Chinese investment.As early as 1907,the first Chinese invested cinema was established in Hong Kong,and the Chinese people began their adventure independently in the movie distribution and exhibition area.
