经济发展是指经济由不发达状态向发达状态的转变,包括数量的增长和质量的提高两个方面。一个国家的经济能否可持续发展主要由其发展模式决定。"以物为本"的经济发展模式虽然带来了财富的增加,但引发的社会问题已成为我国进一步发展的制约,必须转向"以人为本"的发展模式,注重技术进步和知识创新,强调经济运行的协调性和人的全面发展。通过转变经济结构,改革分配制度,完善社保体系和创新体制、机制来实现发展模式由"以物为本"到"以人为本"的根本转型。

Economic development means a transformation from underdevelopment to a developed state,which includes growth in number and improvement in quality.Whether a country＇s economy can achieve sustainable development is determined by its development mode.Although ＂material-centered＂ economic development mode has brought about an increase in wealth,the social problems it causes have restricted our country＇s further development.Therefore,the development pattern of ＂people-oriented＂ must be turned to which emphasizes technological progress and knowledge innovation while attaching great importance to the coordination of economic operation and the comprehensive development of people.The fundamental transformation of development pattern from ＂material-centered＂ to ＂people-oriented＂ could be realized through economic structure change,distribution system reform,social security system improvement and institutional mechanism innovation.
