南北朝时期,中央与地方权力皆被大姓望族所掌控;地方大姓多举族聚居;望族的婚姻多为相同利益集团内婚制。这些相同点的形成是因为无论南方或北方,大姓望族已经成为当时南北政权的依靠者和支持者;反过来,他们为了能够长期占有特权,一定会采取种种措施以求自保。

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties,the central authority and the local authority were both controlled by the popular prominent families.Many of those families lived in a compact community and the marriages between the same interest groups were very common because the prominent families were the supporters of the southern and northern regimes.Conversely,to make their power forever,they must take different measures to protect themselves.
