摘要 2011年5月27日晚,随着青年作曲家邹航的《2011》最后一个音符的奏毕,"2011北京现代音乐节"在国家大剧院圆满落幕。今年的北京现代音乐节与以往几届相比,在继续保持高品质的基础上,突出"音乐就是力量"这一主题。北京现代音乐节艺术总监叶小纲说:"北京现代音乐节不仅展示现代音乐大师们的成功作品,也应该关注现代音乐的发展,关注现代音乐对社会的影响。 On the evening of May 27,2011,the last note of young composer Zou Hang's work '2011' was played,which marked the conclusion of the 2011 Beijing Modern Music Festival at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.This year's festival focused on the subject 'Music is the power',different from the previous editions of the festival.The festival's artistic director Ye Xiaogang noted that 'the Modern Music Festival should not only pay attention to the successful works by great music masters,but also the development of modern music.Every cultural worker ought to perform this duty.Actually,the social development depends on the human mind,and the core of human mind is the culture.Cultural construction can not be completed with mere talks on lips,but rather,with the construction of our soul,within which music is the most effective.So this is a great task for our festival.' The transformation of the festival provided more ac-cess to ordinary audience,making it more popular among the general public.With the same efficiency and density as the previous editions,this year's festival featured 5 top-level symphony concerts,10 international instrumental ensemble concerts,1 special concert of works by young composers,5 international music master classes,as well as the 2011 China Forum on Aesthetic Education,all of which supplied a feast of modern music to the audience.After 9 years' growth since it was founded in 2002,the Beijing Modern Music Festival has gradually developed with higher quality and greater influence,and today it gains high acclaims from the music circle,and in the meantime it has more and more influence on the general public.The festival serves as a platform for international cultural exchanges,and it also becomes a spiritual homeland for all music lovers.2011 is seen as an important year in the history of the festival's development as it has realized the objective of serving more public in the society while maintaining the same high academic quality and the three unique sections in the programmes.Just as the festival producer and president,also president of the Central Conservatory of Music,Mr.Wang Cizhao remarked in his address,modern art is supposed to transcend traditions,creating today's art for the history of music with new ideas and methods.Its function is to meet all the various demands of the modern society,and more importantly,to provide spiritual power for the progress and development of the times.Beijing Modern Music Festival is a bridge between traditions,modernity and future.It transcends traditions but it never neglects the demands of the modern times;it pays attention to the modern but it also looks towards the future.This is indeed the social value of modern art选 The festival has been closely following the cultural construction in the modern society,and has undertaken its social responsibility in promoting aesthetic education and cultural inheritance.
