The first position is on quantum optics with laser cooled atomic and molecular ions, comprising： （i） the manipulation of and precision measurements on cold molecular ions, for application to fundamental tests of physics. The planned work will extend on their results of rotational cooling （Nature Physics 6, 207 （2010）） and spectroscopy of the hydrogen molecular ion （Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 173002 （2007））;
