Pearl S. Buck won the Nobel Prize for Literature not merely for her Earth series. Her biography about her parents also drew similar attention. In Fighting Angel, she gave a vivid description of her father＇s struggling and self transcendence as a fa- ther, a missionary and an exile by overcoming limitations of the identity of missionary and making the growth and development of the modern soul as the main thread.
