张佩纶与冯子材之恩怨探析

The ZHANG Peilun and FENG Zicai Conflicts

清末,著名谏官张佩纶本与广西提督冯子材并不相识。1872年,冯子材因奏参贪腐官员徐延旭而遭到淮系的嫉恨,后者撺掇张佩纶以举荐徐延旭主持广西军政的方式排斥冯子材;结果徐延旭因北宁之役大败而受到追究,张佩纶也因荐举非人而离开朝廷,直至最终身败名裂。

In late Qing Dynasty,ZHANG Peilun,a famous imperial censor,and FENG Zicai,the governor of Guangxi,didn＇t know each other.In 1872,FENG Zicai encountered resentment from the Anhui Clique for he accused XUYanxu,a corrupted official,in a memorial to the throne.The Anhui Clique urged ZHANG Peilun to reject FENG Zicai by proposing XU Yanxu to take charge of the military and political affairs in Guangxi.In the end,XU Yanxu was investigated because of his defeat in Beining.ZHANG Peilun,for proposing the wrong person,was also driven out of the imperial court and ended up in being utterly discredited.
