摘要
不知是不是和暑假开始了有关,纽约接连上演两出歌剧都带有童话色彩:莫扎特的《魔笛》和雅纳切克(Leos Janacek)的《狡猾的小狐狸》(TheCunning Little Vixen)。
OUTLINE/Call it coincidence, but two opera with fairy-tale themes landed in New York within a short period of time. This summer's Lincoln Center Festival presented Peter Brook's A Magic Flute.Using only a piano, seven singers, two actors and dozens of bamboos,Brook retold the Mozart opera in a brisk 100 minutes. The director didn't really re-interpret the famous tale, he only simplified the narrative.A more satisfying production is at the season finale of the New York Philharmonic-Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen. Director Doug Fitch transformed the Avery Fisher Hall stage into a Czech forest, where all kinds of insects and animals, played by members of the Metropolitan Children's Chorus, prance around the stage.Alan Gilbert did a great service to New York by presenting this rarely-seen opera.
