[ Objective] To understand the effect of microwave on lens of operators, provide the basis for performing health surveillance and making protective measures. [ Methods ] According to the Technical specifications for occupational health surveillance, the eye examination was conducted in 112 microwave workers, and the results were compared with that of the control group. [ Results]There were significant differences in the total incidence rate and degrees of lens opacity between the investigation group and the control group (P 〈0.01). The incidence rates of lens opacity of microwave workers whose working age were over 10 years and microwave workers under 45 years old were significantly higher than that of the control group ( P 〈 0. 05 or 0. O1 ). [ Conclusion]The long-term low power density microwave may damage the lens of operators, and can be accumulated. It is necessary to strengthen the health protection among microwave workers, especially eye protection.
