语言符号任意性与理据性辩证关系研究

Research upon Dialectic Relationship between Arbitrariness and Motivation of Linguistic Symbols

任意性与理据性是语言符号的两大本质属性,二者关系是辩证统一的。词的音义联系不是本质的、必然的,但音义结合的理据是客观的、具体的。"本质论"与"规定论"两派学者就音义关系争论了两千年,其症结在于对理据的不同理解。在系统梳理前人对语词理据问题的理论探讨与实践的基础上,借助认知语言学、普通语言学理论,剖析语言符号任意性问题,阐释语词音义关系的理据性,为语言学理论建设提供可资参考的科学论断。

Arbitrariness and motivations are two essential attributes of the linguistic symbols,and they are a dialectic unity.The connection of a particular word＇s pronunciation and its meaning is not intrinsic and necessary,but the reasons why they can be combined together are objective and concrete.Scholars from schools of the ＂natural theory＂ and the ＂regulation theory＂ have argued the relationship between pronunciation and meaning for about 2000 years and the main controversy lies in their different understandings of motivation.On the basis of the systematic study on the predecessors＇ exploration of the theory of motivation,this thesis intends to probe into the arbitrariness of linguistic symbols by means of the theory of cognitive linguistics and common linguistics in the hope of explaining the motivation of the relationship between pronunciation and meaning scientifically,and providing a reference for the development of the linguistic theory.
