摘要
1963年、台湾の大学に日本語学科が設置された。学科名は「東方語文学系」と称して戦後の日本語教育がスタートした。日本植民地時代に日本語教育は50年も続き、日本語教師が多数いたはずだが、しかし、大学教師になるには学歴が必要なので、そこで問題が生じた。本論文では当時の日本語教育の実態と変化を述べ、主として教授法に焦点を置き、日本語を教える時代から「、語族別日本語教育」を唱えた1978年までの経緯を述べる。
In 1963, the Department of Japanese Language (officially known as the Department of Eastern Languages) was established in what is now Taiwan's Chinese Culture University. That was the beginning of Japanese language education in Taiwan after World War II. However, Japanese language education in Taiwan was also practiced during the fifty years of Japanese colonial adminstration, such that one million Taiwan Residents are estimated to have received an elementary education in the Japanese language. This begs the question of why it took so many years for Japanese language education to reach the university level. In this paper, the situation and evolution of Japanese language education will be discussed. Special attention is given to the teaching method, starting from the time when a man could be a teacher of Japanese language as long as he could speak Japanese, the paper moves on to describe the method by which "Teaching Japanese Language by distinguishing families of languages" was advocated by the author in 1978.
