On Jiang Li-chang and His Lunwen-Shi Shi Yi Yu

蒋励常所撰《十室遗语·论文》为目前所发现的唯一一部清代广西文话。此书在形式上兼具文话与评点两种批评文体特色,在创作辩证思维与古文艺术风格论上强调"参差"与"整齐"相间,推崇"恣肆"的古文风格。与传统的文以载道观相比,蒋励常将古文朝着文学的道路上推进了一步。即使将此书置于整个清代文话史上来看,也是理论价值颇高、特色非常鲜明的一部著作。

Lunwen-Shi Shi Yi Yu by Jiang Lichang is the only Wenhua written by a Guangxi writer in the Qing dynasty. With a writing pattern of combining two criticical styles： Wenhua and commentaries, this book lays emphasis on the alternation of diversity and unity in dialectical thinking of literal and artistic creation and the writing style of ancient Chinese prose and praises highly of an unrestrained and natural writing style. Compared with the traditional view of ＂writing is for conveying truth＂, Jiang was a leading figure in promoting the changing of ancient Chinese prose towards literature. Even if put in the history of Wenhua throughout the Qing dynasty, it still is a work of high theoretical value and dear-cut characteristics.
