'Poissons d'or',the second piano piece of 'Images' Book II composed by Debussy, was not only the composer's musical expression on distant fictional world of yearning and wander east, but also a demonstration of talent on infusing visual art into his music.Furthermore, the piano piece also reflected the Parisian passions for 'Le Japonisme' in late nineteen century. This paper starts with the definition of the 'Images',followed by a description of the impact of Japanese art on French society in nineteen century, then the inspiration of 'Poissons d'or' and its origin is further explored. Finally, the author's interpretation on performing 'Poissons d'or' is also proposed.
