Comparative Study: Zeno's Paradox of Arrow in the Mohist System of Philosophy

墨家是中国古代哲学的重要流派,其理论在数学、逻辑学、物理学方面多有建树。芝诺的飞箭悖论是古希腊哲学的著名辩题,用墨家哲学来研究芝诺悖论将带给我们新的思考。《墨经》中涉及时空关系的概念是研究该问题的起点,从瞬间的概念可以推导出时间的连续性原理,再进一步得到连续时间中运动的静态描述,这一描述使得芝诺飞箭悖论的两个前提被证伪,证明了在墨家的哲学体系内,飞箭悖论是不成立的。

Mohists is one of important schools of Chinese ancient philosophy, the theories in mathematics, logic and physics have achieved success. Zeno＇s paradox of arrow is a famous ancient Greek philosophical debate, researching this paradox with the theory of Mohist will bring the new ideas. Mojing involved in the concept of time and space relations is the starting point of the issue. The continuity of time can be deduced from the principle of moment, and then the static description of movement can be deduced from the continuity of time. This description makes the two premises of Zeno＇s paradox of arrow was falsified. It proved that this paradox is not established in the Mohist system of philosophy.
