徐渭是明代后期著名的文学家和艺术家,自谓吾书第一。其草书不受成法束缚,出于真情至性,可谓其悲愤人生的真实写照。通过与前贤张旭、怀素、黄庭坚、祝允明草书相比,可以看出:诸前贤草书之"狂"是有限度的、有条件的,虽狂放无边但法度谨严。徐渭狂草则感性居上,无视传统用笔法度,更加强化了艺术家的主观性,把草书艺术向前推进了一步。
