从翻译策略看译者的伦理取向——以古诗英译为例

On Translators' Ethic-orientation in Choosing Translation Strategies——Case Study of Chinese Classical Poetry Translation

翻译作为跨文化的社会交际行为,势必会受到伦理的制约,而译入语文化的规范和当时的文化需要则一直影响着译者选择翻译策略的价值判断和伦理取向。文章从翻译伦理的角度,以古诗英译为例,探讨总结译者翻译策略选择的三种伦理取向:尊重保留、归化屈从和中立调和,希望为当代典籍翻译拓宽理论研究的视角。

Translation which is recognized as a cross--culturally interactive behavior is bound to be restricted to the extent of ethics. And norms of the target culture as well as its cultural demand constantly exert an influence on translators; values assessment and ethic orientation in choosing translation strategies. This paper makes a generalizing examination with a case study of Chinese classical poetry translation from the perspective of translation ethics into translators＇ three orientations in strategy choices： preservation with respect, domestication with concession, and mediation with neutrality.
