《世说新语》记载了很多僧人的故事,从他们与名士清谈、交游的记载中,可以看到当时佛理研究的深入以及佛教在当时的传播情况。以《世说新语》为基础,去考察当时僧人的文化素养,与名士交游的情况等等,为我们了解当时的佛教在上层社会的传播提供了很多材料,从中可以具体地感受到当时佛理与玄理相互渗透、僧人与名士共入一流的现象。

We can study the situation in which the Buddhist teachings were discussed and the Buddhist was spread. In Slql SHUO SIN YU, we found so many materials about the monks＇ Cultural literacy, the companionship between monks and persons with a literary reputation, Buddhist propagation. Starting from the materials, we concluded？that？the Buddhist teachings were？interpenetrated with Xuanli and the monks were in company with the up class.
