Russell＇s Theory of Description is recognized as ＂the model of philosophy in 20th century＂, which has a profound impact upon logic, linguistics and philosophy. The writer introduces the background of this theory that is to solve the three famous difficult questions and talks about the meaning, the relation and differences between Description and Proper Name. Finally, this paper makes a brief evaluation on the Theory of Description from both linguistics and philosophy two aspects.
