摘要
贝娄的长篇小说《院长的十二月》是他在1976年获得诺贝尔文学奖后出版的小说。该作品是贝娄创作上发生重大转折的标志,即从原来富有喜剧色彩的叙述转向了颇具悲剧彩色的叙述。本文试图运用城市文学研究的一些基本理念,对该小说中所出现的芝加哥和布加勒斯特这两座城市意象进行分析与对比,并以此来反观贝娄对现代美国城市所持的复杂态度。
Bellow's The Dean's December was his novel after being awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1976. The publication of it indicates a significant change in Bellow's literary creation, namely a change employs the basic ideas of city literature in his novel and therefore to examine his from the comic to the tragic. The present author study to analyze the two cities Bellow represented outlook on modem American cities.
