本文在研读英国学院派作家马尔科姆·布雷德伯里五部小说批评著作的基础上,分别从社会对文学的影响、小说诗学、作家和批评家的共生关系三个方面梳理和辨析他的小说批评思想,认为布雷德伯里重视文学的社会性,提倡批评的包容性,他的小说批评观体现了自由人文主义思想,具有"兼容并蓄"的特点。

This paper, based on a close reading of Malcolm Bradbury＇s major critical works on the novel, examines his novel criticism in the following aspects： society＇s influence on literature, poetics of the novel, and the symbiotic relationship between the novelist and the critic. Bradbury attaches importance to the social significance of literature and the inclusiveness of criticism. His novel criticism is characterized by ＂eclecticism＂, which is in line with his liberal humanistic thinking.
