This paper gets a view of general characteristics of medical endoscopes. Then, taking several kinds of endoscopy commonly used in clinical emergency for example, this paper gives a description to the working principle of the endoscope, indications, methods of operation, maintenance and sterilization. It also analyzes the future development of endoscope, which engaged in providing a reference for emergency medical personnel and engineers.
