Analysis and Thinking on the New IHO Standard for Hydrographic Geospatial Data

IHO海洋测绘地理空间数据新标准S-100是海洋测绘地理空间数据新的国际标准,其重要性不言而喻。然而由于该标准出现时间不长,并且抽象难以理解,为此,在深入学习ISO 19100系列标准、IHO相关标准的基础上,对S-100进行了分析总结。首先指出了S-57存在的问题,分析了S-100的主要优点;对S-100标准中涉及但并未解释清楚的一些重要ISO术语进行了阐释;分析了该标准的总体框架结构;对标准中的注册机制、坐标参照系、数据模型、元数据和产品规范等五大关键内容进行了分析;最后,探讨了S-100对我国海洋测绘研究和应用带来的机遇与挑战。

S-100 is a new inlernational standard for hydrographic geospatial data., which is of great importance. However, it is still new for us and too abstract to understand. Therefore, on the in-depth research on ISO 19100 series of geographic standards and IHO related standards, an analysis and summary of S-100 was brought forward here. The disadvantages of S-57 and the advantages of 5-100 were first pointed out above all, and then several important ISO terms, which appeared in S-100 hut were not clearly defined, were explained, as well as the architecture of S-100. The five key matters such as registry mechanism, coordinate reference systems, data model, metadata and product specification were analyzed. At last the opportunities and challenges that S-100 may bring to our research and application of hydrographic were put forward.
