Objective To investigate the difference of subjective well--being from resilience in depression group and non--depression control group. Methods Subjective Well--being Index Questionnaire and Connor--Davidson Resilience Measurement were used to assess test group (clinic and hospitalized depression patients) and control group. We compared the scores from the two groups. Results The scores of subjective well--being index and resilience level were significantly lower in the test group than that in the control group (P 〈 0.01). In control group, resilience and subjective well--being were positively correlated (r = 0. 943,P 〈 0.01) while in test group no significant correlation was found (r = 0, 149,P 〈 0.05). Conclusions The subjective well--being and resilience in the depression group were both significantly poorer than non--depression group. In non--depression adult group, resilience and subjective well--being are positively correlated. No correlation between resilience and subjective well-- being was found in depression group in the study.
