An Analysis of the Symbolic Meanings of Two Types of "Subtle Fitting" Fish Patterns in Relief Stone Sculpture of Han Dynasty

"巧合"是中国传统图案的造型手法。在汉代画像石艺术中有两种巧合鱼纹十分引人注目,它们作为具有历史传承关系的图像,既与人类早期的鱼文化有着千丝万缕的联系,同时作为一种墓葬文化又集中体现了汉代人对待生命的观念。本文将从此类图像的造型特征出发,解读汉画像石中巧合鱼纹所包含的象征意义。

＂Subtle fitting ＂ is one of techniques modeling traditional Chinese patterns.In relief stone sculpture of Han Dynasty,two types of ＂subtle fitting＂ fish patterns are noteworthy.They,as the images showing historical inheritance,are inextricably linked with ancient fish culture in human history.Meanwhile,as a carrier of burial culture,they best reflect the people＇s attitude toward life in Han Dynasty.Based on the modeling features of these patterns,the article aims to interpret the symbolic implications of ＂subtle fitting＂ fish patterns in relief stone sculpture of Han Dynasty.
