聚合物全光开关调制深度的改进

摘要 提出一种新的方法组成有机聚合物全光开关,由偏振方向相互垂直的两束线偏振光作为激发光(532nm,CW)交替激发甲基红(Methyl Red)掺杂聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)聚合物薄膜样品(掺杂浓度6%),实验研究了薄膜样品的全光开关效应,并测量了采用单一的线偏振光激发下样品的全光开关特性.在室温(25℃)和200Hz的调制频率下分别用2种不同的激发光激发薄膜样品,即单一的线偏振光(8 mW)和偏振方向相互垂直的两束线偏振光交替激发(8 mW和7.8mW),相应的开关调制深度分别为22.3%和98%.实验结果表明,采用偏振方向互相垂直的两束偏振光交替激发方式可显著提高偶氮掺杂聚合物全光开关的调制深度. A new method for composing all optical switching based on azo dye-doped polymers is proposed,the two linearly cross-polarized beams(532 nm,CW) were used alternately to pump azo dye Methyl Red(MR) doped polymer methyl methacrylate(PMMA) film(6wt%),and the all-optical switching characteristics of the film samples were measured.The corresponding investigation was made by using a single linearly polarized beam.At room temperature(25℃) and the modulation frequency of 200Hz,a single linearly polarized beam(8mW) and the two linearly cross-polarized beams(8mW and 7.8mW) were used respectively to pump the film sample,the corresponding modulation depths of the all-optical switching were 22.3% and 98%.The experimental results demonstrate that the method based on two linearly cross polarization excitation can increase evidently the all-optical switching modulation depth of azo dye doped polymer.
