With abundant natural gas resources,Sichuan and Chongqing Area has obvious advantages in developing LNG vehicles.LNG used for vehicle fuel has remarkable advantages compared to other kinds of fuels.However,basic conditions for developing LNG vehicle industry such as LNG vehicle technology,LNG filling station technology,resource base and investment desire are absolutely necessary.Besides good resource base,the 12th Five Year Plan in Sichuan and Chongqing Area also brought bright future for LNG vehicle market.Moreover,strategies on guaranteeing LNG development in Sichuan and Chongqing Area are suggested including establishing a leading group,unveiling related preferential policies and technical standards,setting up a service and supervision system for LNG vehicles,strengthening propaganda to encourage technology innovation and product research and development and promoting enterprises’investment on construction of LNG filling stations.
