语域理论视域下商务合同英语修辞特征研究

Rhetorical Features of Business Contract English From the Perspective of Register Theory

商务合同英语是一种契约文体,行文庄重严肃,条理清楚,语言严谨周密。文章从功能语言学家韩礼德语域理论的三个变量——话语范围、话语方式和话语基调出发,通过具体例子分析商务合同英语的词汇、句法和语篇的修辞特征,进而指出语域理论对于商务合同英语的撰写具有重要的指导意义。

Business contract,a business contract style of writing,demonstrates special features in cohesive ties with formal textual pattern, clear and logical structure, and accurate diction. Based on the functional linguist Halliday＇ s three variables of register theory ： field, tenor, and mode, it aims to explore the rhetorical features of vocabulary, syntax, and text of English business contract. It is concluded that the theory of register is very important for the writing of business contract.
