摘要
隐喻是一种利用已知事物来理解未知事物的认知手段，人类以自身结构去认识世界的人体隐喻也是隐喻中的一种常见方式，而人体中首、尾也是经常被用来指代时间、空间等概念。本文通过对比英汉两种语言中head（苔／头）和tail（尾）隐喻的不同，揭示了其跨语言、跨文化的共性及个性，在认知语言学和跨文化交际研究中都具有重要意义。
