Role of Emperors in Tang Dynasty in Development of Court Music

唐代宫廷音乐高度发展,繁荣的原因不仅有政治、经济上等诸多原因,在皇权高度统一和集中的帝王时代,封建帝王对礼乐制度的高度重视以及对音乐的喜爱都决定宫廷音乐发展的成败。文中对唐代初、中、晚期有代表性的几位帝王对宫廷音乐所做的贡献进行分析,围绕他们在宫廷音乐发展中的事迹展开论述,从宫廷音乐创建、繁荣以及走向衰落的全过程进一步说明唐代帝王在宫廷音乐发展中所起作用。

There are various contributing factors of prosperous development of court music in Tang Dynasty,including political and economical ones.This article will focus on the factors of feudal emperors whose like and favor on the music determines the rise and fall of court music in a monarchy with consolidated and centralized power.The important contributions of representative emperors in early,middle and late Tang Dynasty have been explored,together with the analysis of what those emperors did for the development of court music.The exploration covers the whole span of the foundation of court music,its prosperity and decline.
