A Critical Review of Multi-theoretic Perspectives on Translation Quality Assessment

近年来,人们对提出解决评估翻译质量的问题的标准兴趣日浓,产生了关注翻译特性及翻译过程中用到的技术和程序的诸多研究,也一直尝试构建翻译质量评估模式。这些模式(语言、心理、文化、社会)既有宏观分析焦点,也有微观分析焦点,既考察单个语言项目的交际价值,也考虑意识形态、功能、语类、语域、语篇等因素,翻译评论家通过此多元视角可大致重构译者的选择,尽可能客观地揭示译者的决定过程。

In recent years there has been increasing interest in developing the criteria for solving the problems of assessing the quality of translation,which has resulted in many studies concerning the nature of translation,the techniques and procedures used in the translation process.There have also been attempts to build models for assessing translation quality.These models（linguistic,mentalist,cultural and social）,with both a macro-analytical focus and a micro-analytical one,take into consideration such factors as ideology,function,genre,register,text as well as the communicative value of individual linguistic items.Such a multi-perspectival viewpoint enables a translation critic to give a probabilistic reconstruction of the translator’s choices,and throw some light on his or her decision processes in an manner as objective as possible.
