In "Désirée’s Baby",Kate Chopin borrows the archetypal images of God and Satan in Bible to categorize,religiously speaking,the White and Black in the American South into two conflicting camps.Further reading from this perspective contributes to revealing that Chopin eulogizes the White and depreciates the Black,which leads to a conclusion that the story is an utterly racist work of fiction.
