摘要
惜字信仰在中国有着悠久历史传统,由最初的对文字本身崇拜发展到对文德的敬畏。惜字信仰的嬗变原因主要在于:印刷术发明之前,字纸、书籍难以轻易获得;自隋唐实行科举考试以后,世人入仕功利思想的推动;士人们为了维护其社会地位,对字纸、书籍的神圣化;政府通过国家强制力的推动。
The article mainly discusses the changing reasons for the belief in Chinese character respect.The belief has a long tradition in China.The transformation of this belief has developed from characters itself to moral in article.The reasons for the change are as follows： first,it is difficult to get paper and books before the printing press was invented;second,with the development of imperial competitive examination,utilitarianism promoted the belief;third,scholars tried to keep their social status by emphasizing the importance of books;finally,the promotion by government is also an important factor.
