China will vigorously develop cultural industry and regard it as an emerging strategic and pillar industry in national economy. Taking into consideration the latest national policies for cultural industry and the situation of economic and social development in Lianyungang city, this paper clarifies the status quo and characteristics of the development of cultural industry in Lianyungang city and puts forward practical and feasible measures for its future development of cultural industry.
