金谷园遗址新考

A New Proof of the Site of Jinggu Garden

金谷园是西晋富豪石崇的园苑。斗转星移,遗迹灰飞烟灭,致使金谷园遗址的确切位置众说纷纭,有宋明洛阳城西说,有隋唐洛阳城东说,有金谷水畔说,等等。经过史料和实地考证,金谷园就在发端于今洛阳市孟津县横水镇东南,贯穿常袋镇、麻屯镇的长谷中。

As ages passing away, it became hard to locate the original position of the Site of Jinggu Garden, the garden of Shichong, a man of wealth and prominence in the Western Jin Dynasty. Among many discordant opinions, some held it was in the west of Luoyang city, as stated by people of the Song and Ming Dynasties. Some believed it was in the east of Luoyang city, as stated by people of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Others claimed it was by the side of water, and so on. With the proof of historical data and field survey, we are entitled to say Jinggu Garden was right on the southeast of Hengshui town, Mengjing County, Luoyang city. It extended itself along the long val- ley from the towns of Changdai to Matun.
