This paper deeply describes the Byker Redevelopment in Newcastle, UK which is designed by Ralph Erskine and considered as the most successful architectural designed in the 1970s, However, Byker received a period of prosperity and declined gradually because of political environment. After 2000, in order to protect and promote Byker a series of strategies were issued by local government. Thus, it is particularly necessary to discuss that if Byker could be reborn.
