The teaching of manual welding concerning surface mount technology（SMT） in vocational colleges lacks standard.The paper proposes an effective training approach to manual welding and an evaluation standard for it based on practical experience in enterprises,which enables the students to master the modern welding skill and helps them lay a solid foundation to be qualified for corresponding posts after graduation.
