Excavation spoil is used as backfill materials for the leveling work of Xianning Nuclear Power Plant Project. The backfill materials have complex lithologic character and non-uniform weathering degree. An introduction was made on the method, procedure and conclusions of the lst-stage site rolling test conducted for the intense or middle weathered argillaceous siltstone and silty shale within the excavation area.
