Metaphorical Cognition and Cultural Reflex of the Chinese and English Animal Metaphorical Words

汉英两种语言中均存在大量的动物隐喻词汇,它们都有其特定的文化喻义。从概念隐喻入手,分析汉英动物隐喻词汇所折射出的文化内涵和语义特征,探讨中西方的思维模式、价值取向、意识形态等民族文化心理差异,有助于减少跨文化交际中的理解偏差和语用失误。

In both Chinese and English,there exist a large number of animal metaphorical words,and they have specific cultural meaning.Based on the theory of conceptual metaphor,this paper analyzes the cultural connotations reflected in the Chinese and English animal metaphorical words and their semantic features,aiming at exploring the different national cultural psychology in terms of thinking modes,values and ideologies and reducing understanding bias and pragmatic errors in cross-cultural communication.
