The Multiple Meanings of Yan Yu's Analyzing Poetics Metaphorically with Zen

严羽《沧浪诗话》中提出的"以禅喻诗"一说,学者们多有阐释和评说,但由于不能区分"悟"多方面的意思,导致论述的混乱和片面。严羽提出的"以禅喻诗"实际包含三重内涵:鉴赏之"悟"、诗法之悟、作诗时的特殊思维方式——"妙悟"。

Yan Yu put forward the theory of analyzing poetics metaphorically with Zen in Canglang Poem Theory. Many scholars have interpreted and commented on it, but failed to discern the meaning in Yan Yu＇s Enlightenment Theory from various aspects, which has led to confusion and one-sided discussion. In fact the theory contains triple meaning： disclosing the eternal beauty in poetical creation in literary appraisals, obtaining the skills to poetry composing with a long-term practice and thinking, a special thought pattern in composing poetry-＂exquisite enlightenment＂
