The significance of establishing earthquake prevention and disaster reduction demonstration community in Taiyuan city, the steps of establishment and the achievement are introduced in detail in this paper. It concludes that the establishment of standard demonstration community can enhance the consciousness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and the abilities of self-save and mutual save of the public, which may help to mitigate earthquake disaster and loss.
