The ＂university＂ refers to different types of universities in various context.The university,as an academic community,should be an ideal one;while in reality,universities are of institutions rather than ideas.With the degeneration of the ideal university into the ideas of the university,the institutionalization of the university brings out the institutional university.Now the institutional university is enjoying comprehensive development,while the ideal university is fading off.With the development of information technology,the virtual electronic university has come into the horizon.As the outcome of the technology era,the electronic university not only enriches the public＇s understanding of the university,but also subverts the traditional image of the university,adding another uncertainness for the transformation of the modern university.
