A Summary of Bai Miao Tu Study in Latest 20-Years

"百苗图"系清人陈浩所纂《八十二种苗图并说》一系列抄本的总称。该书采取了图文并茂的形式,系统介绍了贵州高原各民族的分布、历史变迁、风俗习惯及其与中央王朝的关系。学术界对"百苗图"研究整理者较多,深层次探讨则不足,制约了对清代贵州高原民族史、民族关系史的研究。

＂Bai Miao Tu＂ is genericterms of a series of manuscripts of Eighty-two kinds of Miao Diagrams writtened by Chen Hao in Qing Dynasty.The book is a valuable historical ethnography which makes a systematic description of the distribution of various ethnic groups,the historic changes,customs in Guizhou Plateau and their relationship with the central government in diagrams and words.However,most of the academic studies has focused on the collection and tidying up information but not deep research,which restricted the study of ethnic history and the history of ethnic relations in Guizhou plateau.
