"先合作化后机械化"是毛泽东农业合作化思想的重要内容,也是我国农业机械化发展的重要理论基础。这一思想在当年党内围绕中共山西省委《把老区互助组提高一步》的报告所进行的争论中提出和确立。历史地考察毛泽东"先合作化后机械化"思想的提出及其主要内容,总结我国农业合作化和农业机械化进程中的经验和教训,对于当今农业机械化事业的发展、"三农"问题的解决和农业现代化的实现都有重要意义。

'Mechanization after Co-operation' ideology is the important content of Mao Zedong’s thought about agricultural cooperation and also the important theoretical basis of the development of China’s agricultural mechanization. It was in the arguments in our Party over Improve the Mutual-aid Teams in Old Revolutionary Base Areas, the report by the Party Committee of Shanxi Province in those days that this ideology had been proposed and established. Arguments arose mainly due to the different understanding in our Party of the connotation of cooperation in rural areas. In this paper a careful study has been made to explore the historical reasons for Mao Zedong’s proposal of 'Mechanization after Co-operation' ideology and its main content, and also use for reference the merits and demerits of China’s agricultural co-operation and agricultural mechanization process, which is extremely essential for the development of agricultural mechanization, the realization of agricultural modernization, and the solution to the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
