From the angle of cognitive linguistics, this paper made a comparative analysis of typical and exceptional English and Chinese passive sentences, which concludes that the theory of projectile and landmark can be applied in the analysis of English passive sentences. Lastly, the paper discusses the cognitive translation theory on English passive sentences.
