从法律语言的语体特征如专业性、旧体词、外来语、词语的重复使用、名词化以及情态动词等方面着手,探讨了法律英语词汇的来源、特点以及词汇在翻译过程所起的作用。目的是通过对比汉英法律词汇的特点,充分掌握法律英语词汇的一般规律和存在的普遍现象,进而掌握法律文献的一般翻译策略和方法,提高法律文献的翻译质量。

The essay discusses the English translation on law materials from the perspectives of special terms,old form style,foreign words,repetition of words and the use of the auxiliary verbs as well as the nouns forms and so on.Through the study of the origin and the characteristic and the function of the words in the translation process,the author talked about the common exiting system and the general translation strategy.In the purpose to say that only one can deal with the law materials skillfully and improve the translating quality if he grasp the characteristic of words and the special translation strategy of law English.
