ES5180TJC20, a small tonnage workover rig that designed for minor repair for low level of wells, was hard to repire because of suspension of the original chassis, which badly infected the oil production. Yanchang Oilfield decide to modify that workover rig. In the condition of not changing the original superstructure, the PTO was added and the chassis was changed. The ability of hooklifting was improved by 30%, the speed was 10% higher and the working time was 60% more than original one. Saving cost up to 300 thousand RMB, a effective method was rendered for upper potential and using old equipment.
