人际隐喻认知视域下的英汉否定转移现象研究

On Transferred Negatives from a combined Theoretical Perspective of Interpersonal Metaphor and Cognitive Principles

运用系统功能语言学中的人际隐喻理论,并结合认知语法中的象似性原理、图形背景分隔理论,剖析了英语语法中所描述的否定转移现象。根据人际隐喻理论,本文认为英语否定转移可分为原型形式和非原型形式,其中原型形式中又有两类情况可被视为人际隐喻化的结果,且从认知根源上讲,具有认知心理理据。而非原型形式虽然与人际隐喻无关,但依然具有心理认知依据。为深入理解这一语言现象,同时帮助英语学习者避免英汉互译错误,本文还借助汉语语料库分析了汉语中相应的否定转移情况,发现汉语中的否定转移只存在其主观形式,因此在英汉互译时对于主观转移否定和客观转移否定应区别对待。

The current study analyzes transferred negatives in English grammar from a combined theoretical perspective of In- terpersonal Metaphor and Cognitive Principles. In the analysis, transferred negatives are divided into two types, prototypical form and non-prototypical form. In prototypical form, further two types can be categorized from the perspective of interpersonal metaphor and cognitive motivation. While non-prototypical form has no relationship with interpersonal metaphor, it has cogni- tive motivation. To have a deeper understanding of this phenomenon and to avoid misunderstanding in translation, the current study has also analyzed the corresponding Chinese transferred negatives. The analysis shows that only subjective form exists in Chinese, and therefore, the subjective form and objective form of transferred negatives should be treated differently when doing translation.
